HAStudio’s work explores the fusion of brief, idea and implementation into architecturally designed environments of resonance.

Our work is characterised by a cultural and client sensibility. It reflects the blend of individual identity, viable commercial principles and brand positioning and their expression in material form.

As architects, HAStudio operates from a core discipline of project planning and management. Our objective is always to design beyond the site and programme while embracing wider concerns, whether environmental, social or philosophical.

We regularly pursue a mode of design akin to the Japanese design aesthetic of wabi-sabi, best described as the state of grace arrived at by a modest, heartfelt intelligence.

Current commissions range from contemporary residential new build, to retail fit-outs for international stores and to key mixed-use residential and commercial sites.

HAStudio’s commitment to pursuing design excellence, whatever the budget, has been recognised throughout the architectural and design professions with awards and key associations within the industry.

The practice was established originally in the mid-90s in Melbourne, Australia. Since then, its growth has enabled founding director, Robert Harwood, to expand the studio’s international focus in 2007 bringing together a team of talented architects, designers and other skilled practitioners to our new offices in London.
